BIO

Anna Leman grew up in a family of musicians. At the age of 6 she was already singing Mozart and it was clear to her that she wanted to be on the opera stage like her father. But life tells a different story.

She trained as a make-up artist at the State Opera in Munich. This is followed by private singing studies. She gradually discovers a love of jazz and impressionism. Satie, Debussy, Ravel .... and jazz greats from Ella Fitzgerald to Diana Krall..... influenced her further musical work. She gradually carved out her place in the Munich jazz scene and established herself as a composer and lyricist after the release of her first album "moonhours" in 2006 also as a composer and lyricist.

In 2007, the Munich jazz singer makes her debut as a composer and lyricist with her album "moonhours" (musicians: Roberto di Goia, Johannes Enders, Thomas Stabenow, Martin Scales, Michi Keul)

2010 follows the 2nd album "Spuren" with German lyrics to jazzy sounds. (Musicians: Chris Gall, Chris Lachotta, Wolfgang Peyerl, Hugo Sigmeth , Pedro Tagliani, Omar Kabir......)......

2014 For her album "about dreams", she was able to recruit musicians from the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich to join her great jazz line-up (Josef Ressle, Alex Czinke, Chris Lachotta, Wolfgang Peyerl, Janine Schrader, Harald Kuhn). Leman's music moves smoothly between different genres. Jazz, pop and classical elements flow naturally into one another and offer space for versatile sounds and emotions.

2018 ALLURE - the new album 

Leman's original compositions and famous classics in a new guise entice and seduce the listener into other worlds.

The range of emotions is vast. Lively and danceable, sensual and melancholic. Pure joie de vivre, but also sadness move naturally side by side, just like in real life .......

The band plays and celebrates pieces by Tom Waits "Tango till they're sore" or "Libertango - I've seen that face before" (Astor Piazolla/Grace jones) at the highest level and with great enthusiasm.
